Xert / Chert is part of Bajo Maestrazgo (Baix Maestrat). The village has got 1000 people and 450 m. alt. The mountains are called "Sistema Ibérico" You can climb to "El Tormassal" (807 m.) or el "Turmell" (1276 m.) and see wild "Capra Hispánica" (goats). There are a lot of typical plants such as rosemary, big trees as pines, oaks, etc….

You can go to the beach (30 mn.) Peñíscola / Vinaròs or you can visit Morella (30 km. far from here) a well-known historic town on the mountain.

In Summer, the weather is rather cool with a big difference between day and night. In Winter, it is not very cold during the day because of the nice sun. If you want to enjoy watching the snow on the mountains, you can drive on the road to Morella (1000m).
